Club news

Two gold medals for club

Paul McNally and Conner Schuster both won Gold medals on the 24th October 2010 at Salisbury Competition, Paul entered the low grade senior championship, under 90 kg and under 35 years old.

Paul won with two ippon scoring throws and one ippon scoring hold down.

Conner entered the junior low grades and under 38 kgs category,Conner also won with a mixture of throws and hold downs.

The club would like to say well done to both Conner and Paul.

 

 

 

 

Club has triple success

On the 22nd/23rd may 2010 Jackie Cornick attended a Dan grading course run

by the western area at Banwell.             

And became the first women from the club to achieve her black belt at a technical grading.

the coarse was taken by David horton-Jones 6th Dan technical officer and National Director of examiners.

The club would like to congratulate Jackie on her success.

On 5th June 2010 at Bedminster Mini-mons championship two club members

Conner Schuster and Bailey Waterhouse

entered the competition, Conner was under 38kgs and Bailey was under 55kgs,

Bailey fought his way to a Bronze medal,it was Baileys first competition, well done Bailey.

Conner got Gold medal and won all 4 fights with ease, Conner well deserved the gold medal, well done Conner may your success continue.

 

 

Paul wins Silver

Paul McNally entered the Bedminster youth and senior championship at Ashton Park sports centre.

Paul has only been coming to the club since November 2009, and only training on a Thursday night,

Paul entered the competition in the U90 kg category.

Paul won his first contest with a ippon throw, and in his second contest he won by hold down.

In his final contest he suffered a narrow defeat and had to settle for the silver. Colin Taylor would like to

congratulate Paul on his achievement and success and may they continue.
